The existing detached single storey house on a narrow block in Bondi Beach was becoming too small for the client with a growing family. They also wanted to accommodate a garage on their property and give the house a modern aesthetic appearance.

The addition of a second storey to accommodate the master bedroom and kids
bedrooms provided the additional space required and the opportunity to change the appearance of the building.

The second storey addition was designed so that the building appeared as one cohesive element. The appearance of the front of the dwelling is quite modern and dramatic with the master bedroom cantilevering over the front entry along with the framed structure of the balcony.
